1000 PAGE VIEWS!!!

Hey all,

Thanks to all of you great readers, today I reached 1000 page views!

It's an everyBODY beautiful day!!!!!! Can you feel your personal beauty today? If not close your eyes and take a personal "me-time" moment to relish in your inner and outer beauty because YOU are absolutely beautiful!

The goal of this blog was and continues to be one that inspires plus size women and men to not only accept who they are at this point in time but to go a step further and LOVE themselves.

Self-love can be observed in your personal style. For the most part we are in a position to decide what we wear and how we put it on our body. You can put a spin or a twist to an outfit by simply adding a scarf, bulky piece of jewelry, or a unique pair of shoes. Life does not have to be get up, throw some clothes on, get to my destination, go to the bathroom, look in the mirror and after asking myself "what was I thinking" go sit back at my desk and have a low confidence day, while I look at the office diva thinking "how does she do it". EveryBODY on this earth deserves to feel "pretty" and since I love this feeling called pretty, I had no choice but to love FATshion, it came with the deal. The way I dress screams "I love me, and I'm ok with who I am at this moment, in this time, in my life."

THANK YOU READERS...LET'S CONTINUE TO STAY FASHIONABLY INSPIRED!

My first Vlog....they will get better...I promise

Hey all,

I'm going to try something new...I'm going to VLOG!!! Instead of you all seeing pics of me and trying to get a feel for my personality, I'm going to give you a taste (fat girl pun). Now, I'm still learning so please forgive me. In the future I predict I will have a fabulous VLOG, filled with music, bright colors, and lots of fashion but for now you have me, fashion, and a 3 year old diva holding the digital camera. Enjoy my flaws b/c I certainly do. I call this my Vlog test run.

For Colored Girls Only

Last night, I reluctantly went to the movies to see Tyler Perry's: For Colored Girls Only. I say reluctantly because after a long week of work all I wanted to do on Friday night was come home and kick my feet up.

We arrived at the theater around 8:06pm only to learn that the 8:05pm, and 8:35pm were both sold out, so we hurried up and purchased tickets for the 9:55pm show. Since we had time to kill we walked across the street to a brewry and the rest is history:

I'm glad that I went to see the movie because overall, it was good, if you have the ability to analyze. The audience overall was definitely young, and laughed during parts I myself thought were sensitive. I interpreted the movie as being a partial sad truth, not just for black women but all women, often times we relinquish our personal power to the men in our lives, and we do so unknowingly, it isnt until a tragedy strikes that we recognize we have become powerless. I hope we as women begin to understand our personal power. I hope the movie does well. I hope.

Thus concluding my Friday night at 12:44am 6 NOV 2010.

Let me know if you see anything interesting, send me a message.

Fabric Necklace

One trend I have been noticing a lot are Fabric Necklaces, they can be creative and easy to make. In admitting that I not only like reality TV shows, in particular Keeping up with the Kardashian's. Last weekend while watching an episode I noticed Kris Jenner wearing a beautiful black, sequence, fabric necklace. I was immediately prompted to run out and buy the material to make my own.

What do you think? I used African Fabric to create the flower and gold sequence for the rest. I also made a bracelet using a different African fabric.

Stay tuned because there will be more. I'm really liking the amount of creativity that comes with designing one's own jewelry.

K-DASH: Kardashian Sister's Plus Size Clothing Line

After going to the QVC website to checkout K-DASH the plus size clothing line created by the Kardashian sister's I must say I'm a little disappointed. The clothing line; initiated by the eldest sister Kourtney, who's style I seem to actually like and was hoping would be incorporated in the design process, obviously was not. I can only say that I hope the choice of apparel improves within the near future, maybe the spring collection will be better.

The sizes appear to go up to a 3X (26-28). Unfortunately, other than a few wardrobe accents there is not a lot to choose from. Let's hope Gabrielle Union's anticipated Plus Size line: Love and Blessings won't disappoint, especially since she actually has a plus size sister who assisted her in the design process.

NYC Fashion Week First Ever Plus Size Show

Just as I was about to give up on OneStopPlus.com they debut in the Fall 2010 NYC fashion week. Last November (2009) I ordered a pair of knee high kitten heeled boots from them and although I like the boots they are slightly big in the calf.

After buying the boots I would often go the site and browse through the clothes, unfortunately I never came across anything eye catching BUT! their 2011 Spring collection is changing my mind. I saw more than one thing I would love to wear. I'm glad their plus size selection has improved and I'm even happier that a full-figured line has finally debuted in NYC Fashion Week. Maybe next year we will see more plus size designers added to the line-up.

What do you think of the OneStopPlus Spring 2011 collection? Post your thoughts in the comments section.
